Welcome to Lumaea Wellness

Supporting your journey with nurturing, evidence-based maternity and wellness care right here in Woodstock, IL and everywhere virtually.

Meet Jessica -

doula, lactation counselor, yoga + mindfulness teacher, and parent.

I offer grounded, thoughtful support through fertility, pregnancy, birth, and early parenting with a deep respect for evidence-based care and the emotional complexity of these transitions.

My work is rooted in mindfulness, but not in the fluffy way.

To me, mindfulness means showing up. Fully present. Fully human. No matter where you are in your journey. It means holding space for the science and the unknowns, the joy and the mess.

Whether you’re trying to conceive, preparing for birth, navigating the early days of feeding your baby, or simply trying to breathe through the uncertainty. I’m here to walk alongside you. Non-judgmentally.

My approach blends:

• Real information with space to ask questions

• Intentional presence without judgment

• Support that feels calm, clear, and connected

I’ve traveled the world and carried life in more ways than one: as a mother, a surrogate, and now as a companion to many kinds of families. These experiences shape the way I work: grounded, inclusive, and always attuned to the person in front of me.

I offer local support in the Woodstock, IL area as well as virtual options for those farther away or for when I’m traveling and working remotely.

If you’re looking for a calm place to land, a clear path forward, and someone who gets that you can be both strong and unsure, welcome. You’re in the right place.

Frequently asked questions

What is Lumaea Wellness?

Lumaea Wellness is a holistic practice dedicated to supporting families and individuals through fertility, pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and beyond. My approach combines evidence-based education with mindfulness, yoga, and compassionate care. Services include birth and postpartum doula support, lactation counseling, prenatal and postpartum yoga, and wellness practices that reduce stress and enhance well-being.

What training and certifications do you have?

I believe families deserve support that blends professional training with lived experience. My background includes:

Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice (ALPP)

Fertility, Birth, and Postpartum doula training (Maternal Support Practitioner) completed with Bebo Mia (official certification pending)

200-hour Yoga Teacher Training through The Yoga Lounge in Woodstock (official certification pending)

Certified Prenatal Yoga Teacher (85-hour)

Certified Meditation Teacher (100- hour)

Fertility Yoga Teacher Training through Bliss Baby Yoga currently in progress

Integrated Breathwork and Pranayama Facilitator Training

In addition to formal education, I bring personal experience as both a mother and a gestational surrogate. Walking through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum—both for myself and in support of intended parents—has given me unique insight into the emotional, physical, and relational aspects of family building. This lived experience allows me to support clients not only with professional skills but also with deep empathy, understanding, and compassion

Where are you located? Do you offer in-person or virtual services?

I provide in-person services in and around Woodstock, IL, including nearby hospitals such as Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital. For families outside of my service area, or those who prefer the convenience of home-based care, I also offer virtual sessions for lactation counseling, fertility and surrogacy support, and yoga. This hybrid model ensures that support is accessible regardless of location.

Do you accept insurance or Medicaid?

At this time, Lumaea Wellness is in the process of becoming eligible to accept Illinois Medicaid for doula and lactation clients, but we're not there yet. Many clients also use HSA/FSA accounts to cover services. For services such as yoga, mindfulness, and surrogate guidance, payment is typically self-pay. If you’re unsure whether your service might be covered, I’m happy to walk you through your options.

What makes your approach different?

Family-building and parenthood are complex, and I believe your support should reflect that. My approach is unique because it connects the dots between many different fields. From lactation and doula care to mindfulness and yoga. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all advice; instead, I combine evidence-based education with non-judgmental support. I’m here to help you navigate the modern world of pregnancy and parenting with tools that are practical, compassionate, and tailored to your unique journey.
