Lactation Support and Infant Feeding
Feeding your baby is about so much more than a 'perfect latch'. It’s about your confidence, your mental health, and the unique bond you are building. As a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and trained full-spectrum doula, I believe that infant feeding support should be as holistic as it is clinical.
My philosophy is rooted in the belief that there is no 'one right way' to feed a baby, only the way that works for your family. Whether we are meeting in person or connecting virtually, I combine evidence-based practices with the calming tools of mindfulness to help you navigate the 'fourth trimester' with less anxiety and more intuition. Whether you are preparing for your first golden hour or navigating a difficult nursing journey, I am here to provide a soft place to land and a clear path forward.
Feel ready to feed your baby.
Feeding is a journey that begins long before your baby arrives. Whether you are building your foundation for the first time or looking for a different experience than you’ve had before, these prenatal offerings provide the space to learn, troubleshoot, and gain the tools to navigate your unique path with confidence.

Navigating Previous Challenges: Creating a plan to avoid past hurdles and find a new path forward.
The Logistics of Exclusively Pumping: Setting up your schedule, flange fitting, and optimizing output from day one.
Medical & Physical Considerations: Discussing concerns like preparing for a planned Cesarean birth or physical differences.
Colostrum Collection: Evidence-based guidance on collecting "liquid gold" before baby arrives.
Feeding with a Full House: Practical strategies for breastfeeding or pumping when you already have older children at home.
Short Leaves & Transitions: Planning for a quick return to work while maintaining your feeding goals.
You don't have to do this alone.
If feeding feels like a struggle right now, please know this: You are not failing, and you don’t have to figure this out alone. Whether we connect via high-definition virtual support or in your Woodstock-area home, I am here to walk beside you. Together, we will troubleshoot the challenges and find a path forward that honors your goals—and your well-being.

Lactation Counseling FAQs
What is a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC)?
A Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) is a professional who has received extensive training in human lactation and infant feeding. CLCs provide evidence-based education, practical strategies, and hands-on support for common challenges such as latch difficulties, sore nipples, pumping, milk supply concerns, and transitioning back to work.
Do you only help with breastfeeding, or can you support pumping and bottle feeding?
I support all feeding methods. While many families come to me for breastfeeding support, I also provide guidance on exclusive pumping, combination feeding, bottle-feeding techniques, and formula use. My philosophy is that feeding should support the health and well-being of both the baby and the parent.
How do your services compare to an IBCLC?
An International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) is considered the highest level of clinical lactation support, often working in hospitals and with complex medical cases. As a CLC, I am fully trained to help with most common feeding challenges, particularly in outpatient, community, and home-based settings. If a situation requires advanced medical oversight, I will help refer you to resources that are a great fit for your family’s needs.
Do you offer in-home or virtual lactation support?
I offer a hybrid of virtual and in-person lactation support tailored to your needs. I specialize in virtual prenatal breastfeeding education for families everywhere, and I provide hands-on, in-home lactation consultations for my local community within 12 miles of Woodstock, IL.
Virtual Lactation Support (Available Everywhere)
My virtual sessions are perfect for Prenatal Feeding Prep or Postpartum Check-ins. We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform to:
Review your breastfeeding goals and birth plan.
Walk through your breast pump settings and flange sizing.
Troubleshoot supply concerns or localized discomfort.
Why Virtual? It’s the most convenient way to get expert support without the stress of hosting a visitor in those late pregnancy or early postpartum days.
In-Home Lactation Consultations
For families who prefer in-person assistance—such as latching support, positioning, or a physical assessment—I offer in-home visits within a 12-mile radius of Woodstock, Illinois. This includes local service to:
Woodstock
Bull Valley
Huntley (including support for families delivering at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital)
McHenry
Marengo
Crystal Lake
Wonder Lake
Please note: Because in-home visits require additional travel and setup time, they are booked as extended sessions (90 minutes).
